Arterial Catheter:
An arterial catheter is a device that is inserted into a patient’s artery. These catheters, designed for measuring intravascular blood pressure (invasive blood pressure monitoring), are usually connected to monitors that display maximum and minimum blood pressure values (systolic and diastolic pressure) as well as the mean arterial pressure. Blood pressure catheters are often used for monitoring peripheral arterial pressure (such as the radial artery) in emergency situations, operating rooms during major surgeries like cardiac surgery, organ transplants, neurosurgery, and in intensive care units for continuous blood pressure monitoring and frequent blood sampling.
Target Patient Population:
- Patients undergoing medium to major surgeries
